French banker of the day - 14th October 2025

Tuesday’s French banker of the day is a promising Zarak colt for André Fabre.

Seneque (André Fabre / Cristian Demuro)

Chantilly – Race 2 – Cristian Demuro

• Promising type who got off the mark at the second attempt

• Impressive course and distance winner

Seneque returns to the scene of his maiden victory in the second race at Chantilly this afternoon. Having been well supported on his debut at Lyon-Parilly over 1600m, he had to settle for second when beaten three parts of a length behind Chill Y Flama, who reopposes today. It's also worth noting that the fourth placed horse has scored subsequently.

The son of Zarak returned to the track 22 days later over course and distance when stylishly landing a maiden by five and a half lengths. Whilst the second place was an outsider making their debut, he comfortably dispatched some well-bred horses who held experience going into the maiden. Having travelled powerfully through the race, Christian Demuro brought him out from within runners to mount his challenge with 300m and he smoothly drew away from the field inside the final 150m.

The dam, Tabera was a two-time Group 3 scorer over 2000m in Germany, winning the Preis Der Deutschen Einheit at Hoppegarten and the Preis Der Sparkassen Finanzgrupe on her final start at Baden-Baden. Tabera is a half-sister to Sea The Moon filly Lobelia, who won on her debut for Jean-Claude Rouget at Bordeaux Le Bouscat in October 2024 by nine lengths. Grand-dam Temida won the 2012 Group 1 Grosser Preis von Bayern.

With a promising profile and positive pedigree signs, Seneque looks open to plenty of further progress from his top stable and can follow his recent success.
