French banker of the day - 2nd October 2025

Thursday’s French banker of the day is a horse looking to keep up an impressive run of form over jumps…

Kamaro D'Huez (Elisabeth Allaire /Theo Chevillard) Compiegne – R6 – Group 3 Prix de la Gascogne

  •  Career strike rate is very impressive
  • -Holds impressive form at this venue
  •  Won when first-up from a break last time

Kamaro d'Huez is slowly but surely building his way to a Group 1 bid after two victories at Group 3 level in the last jumps season, including the Prix Leopold d'Orsetti last November and the Prix Journaliste at this track.

He lost his unbeaten record when placing third in the Prix Romati, behind two rivals who re-oppose in this race, Game Of Storm and Le Philosophe.

The son of Montmatre started the season on the flat, finishing a respectable fourth in the Group 1 AQPS Prix de Craon at Longchamp four weeks ago.

Trained by Elisabeth Alliare, Kamaro d'Huez has won ten of his sixteen career outings, a strike rate of 62.5%, and has a 75% strike rate at this venue.

For the past 50 runners she has saddled, Allaire is operating at a place strike rate of 24% and will be hoping her stable star is capable of winning on his first jumps start in five months, a feat he has achieved before.

He is clearly talented, and should be knocking on the door of higher grade company further down the line this season.
