In what could be a big week for Francis-Henri Graffard, he will want to kick things off in the best way possible, starting with this two-year-old colt by Mehmas, who has produced popular sprinters Wise Approach, Believing and Magnum Force.

Out of the mare Mystic Dream, who has produced the Listed-winner Copper Knight, her sole success in France came over 1300m, so it's no shock to see Aurorian Clouds start off life over the 1100m trip.

He shaped nicely on his debut at Dieppe, quickening up well down the stands' side rail passing the 400m marker before being collared by the fast-finishing Mai Diere Mai. The pair finished a comfortable two and a half lengths clear of the third-placed horse, who has since gone on to fill the same spot next time out at Vichy.

Trained by Francis-Henri Graffard, who will want to head into Arc weekend all gun's blazing and has his two-year-olds operating at a 23.5% strike rate over the last year, Aurorian Clouds should have learnt plenty from his initial experience and looks sure to take a nice step forward here.
