French Banker of the Day - 22nd September 2025

Monday’s French Banker is a Juddmonte-owned horse returning after a long break…

Percival (André Fabre / Alexis Pouchin)

Vichy – Race 7 - Alexis Pouchin

  •  Promising type who was off the mark at the second attempt
  • Proven over the journey for notable connections

Percival returns after almost eleven months off but showed plenty of potential as a two-year-old in 2024. His debut run was a solid fifth, beaten only five and a half lengths in a mile maiden at Lyon-Parilly where the form has worked out well. The winner that day was Instant Fragile who has scored three times since, and the runner-up Coktail won at Clairefontaine in July.

The son of Camelot was last seen 311 days ago when winning in good style on his second run, going four lengths clear to win a 1m 2f maiden at Saint-Cloud last November. The runner-up, Aidan's Phone has won three times following that outing including a Listed success at the same track during March.

The dam, Bella Bolide has also produced Bolide Porto who started his racing career in France including three victories with Gianluca Bietolini before moving to new connections at the start of the year and won the Listed Prince Khalid Abdullah Cup at Riyadh in January.

With a promising profile and good pedigree signs, Percival looks open to plenty of further improvement on his return.
