Addington Harness Race 1
2 Who's Ya Daddy
TIP OF THE DAY
Reliability and good manners make Who's Ya Daddy (2) a good bet here tonight. He's been racing against the best of the age group of late behind Kyvalley Ray and Duchess Maria and running strong placings. So should enjoy their absence. Will be handy to the speed and hard to stop.
Selections: 2-4-1-3-5
Addington Harness Race 2
3 Miki Brown
Huge recovery after an early gallop at Ashburton from Miki Brown (3) and while he's still very much in the learning phase of his career there is no doubt he's got the ability to win one quickly. Just needs to get it right today. If he catches it on the right foot they'll do well to run him down.
Selections: 3-4-6-2-1
Addington Harness Race 3
4 Ya Rite Darl
Thrown in here off the back of her Hambletonian win 10 days ago, Ya Rite Darl (4) looks about as close to a racetrack moral as you'll find. She's one of the best three-year-olds in the land and takes on largely developing horses here. Should trot to the front and not look back.
Selections: 4-2-3-6-1
Addington Harness Race 4
3 Always A Menace
Off the back of a brave effort at Kaikoura to finish second, Always A Menace (3) looks well placed tonight in a heat of the World Drivers Championship. Boosted by the fact they've drawn Blair Orange too. Good draw, dour pacer and likely to be on the speed throughout a big show.
Selections: 3-5-4-1-8
Addington Harness Race 5
10 Clovelly Hill
Lovely trial last week at Rangiora from Clovelly Hill (10) and while tucked away on the second row here today might not be in the worst spot. Clearly getting better with racing and with any luck here can join in late and go close at a nice price.
Selections: 10-1-7-9-4
Addington Harness Race 6
11 Major Torque
Too good for them here last time out Major Torque (11) actually takes a step down in grade for this tonight. Lands on the second row but gets the right man in the bike in Blair Orange and if he's anywhere near to the speed turning for home he'll be hard to stop.
Selections: 11-4-6-5-3
Addington Harness Race 7
5 Sandfly Bay
Expecting plenty of improvement to come off the back of the first up run for Bob Butt from Sandfly Bay (5). Wasn't bad at Timaru but with a bit more time under the belt can be dangerous. Conditions suit and if able to find a nice spot then should be fighting out the finish.
Selections: 5-6-7-2-4
Addington Harness Race 8
10 One Eye Bandit
Better for the first up run, despite going bush on the home bend, One Eye Bandit has the ability and the speed to beat this field. Will have to get around them all at some point but if able to go that and get up onto the speed then they'll have plenty of think about from the top of the straight.
Selections: 10-2-3-7-8
Addington Harness Race 9
1 River
She's never had the best of luck in her racing career River (1) but gets a golden opportunity to put a win on the board here. Comes up with the ace draw in a field she should be able to dominate and if she can land on the speed and bowl them along they'll need to be good to beat here.
Selections: 1-6-9-2-5
Addington Harness Race 10
9 Elton J
He's developing into quite a progressive wee horse Elton J (9) and while beaten last time the effort was full of merit given the barrier draw. Not easy here either from the outside of the front line but he might just look to press forward and take bad luck out of play. Finds the front and he's hard to beat.
Selections: 9-1-7-12-8
Addington Harness Race 11
9 Transonic
Beautifully bred debutant Transonic (9) kicks off the career here off the back of some tidy trial and workout efforts to ready for the assignment. The Stonewall Stud polish will be on and with a confident Tim Williams drive should be on the speed turning for home and hard to beat.
Selections: 9-6-3-4-8
