EARS BACK winning the CRAIGMORE SUSTAINABLE HOLDINGS TIMARU CUP
EARS BACK winning the CRAIGMORE SUSTAINABLE HOLDINGS TIMARU CUP Picture: Race Images South

Phar Lap Race 1
3 Hollyhockaroo

Hollyhockaroo (#3) resumes, now in the care of David Walsh in the South. She showed good ability on debut last year before failing to go on with it at her next two outings. Walsh has been producing his new stable recruits ready to perform first-up, and with blinkers going on she looks primed for a forward showing. Market on raceday may prove the best guide.

Phar Lap Race 2
1 Morrie

Morrie (#1) was terrific here first-up at this course and distance when finishing 2nd. He maps to get back off a genuine tempo again, which should set up nicely for him to finish strongly over the top late.

Phar Lap Race 3
6 Shesascorcher

Tip of The Day
Shesascorcher (#6), a 3yo Super Seth filly, resumes off a sound recent trial where the Heavy conditions may not have suited. Her form on firmer ground as a 2yo reads well for this maiden, and with Tina Comignaghi aboard from a low draw, she looks well placed to strike first-up.

Phar Lap Race 4
6 Loose Knickers

Loose Knickers (#6) remains a maiden after 11 starts but put in his best effort yet when last seen here over a mile. A one-paced type, he may be better suited stepping up to 2200m. Billy Jacobson takes the ride from a middle draw, and in an even line-up he could surprise at odds.

Phar Lap Race 5
10 Tranquil Eyes

Tranquil Eyes (#10) still holds her maiden tag after 21 starts but her effort here last start for 3rd was full of merit after losing significant ground at the jump. The wide draw is no negative given her pattern, and she shapes as an outstanding each way play at the price in what is a very even maiden field.

Phar Lap Race 6
9 Flying Dubawi

Flying Dubawi (#9) ran well last start for 6th in a bunched finish at Riccarton. A more favourable barrier this time should see him enjoy a much better run in transit. On his home track, he looks a strong chance to run an improved race.

Phar Lap Race 7
4 My Boy Zac

My Boy Zac (#4) closed off nicely here last start at this course/distance. He gets a better barrier and now has Billy Jacobson taking over the reins. With a genuine tempo expected, the race should set up well for him to come off the speed and finish strongly.

Phar Lap Race 8
4 In Vegas

In Vegas (#4) was honest first-up here despite botching the start, finishing well from the back in a race dominated by those on speed. From the inside gate she maps to land in a perfect spot with a clean getaway, and she looks well placed to improve second-up.

Phar Lap Race 9
4 Hammer Time

Hammer Time (#4) produced a strong effort for 3rd here last start over 1600m. The way he stuck on suggested the step up to 2100m will be right up his alley. With Tina Comignaghi retaining the ride and a better barrier draw, he looks one of the leading contenders.

Phar Lap Race 10
5 Those Ocean Eyes

Those Ocean Eyes (#5) was brave here fresh after six months away, sticking on strongly despite racing wide without cover. From a wide draw again, Bridget Grylls may look to push forward early and cross to a prominent spot. With that run under his belt, he can go one better second-up.
