Riccarton Synthetic Race 1
4 Celtic Bling
TIP OF THE DAY
Celtic Bling (#4) finds a very winnable maiden and looks to get her chance here. She has been performing well since heading south and has already shown she handles the polytrack. With Opie Bosson taking the reins, I expect him to possibly put her in the race early from the wide draw and ride her like the best horse in this field.
Riccarton Synthetic Race 2
2 Sorcha
Sorcha (#2) appeals at the slightly better price, compared to Alminette, in what the market has pegged as a match between the Te Akau stablemates. She ran very well here last start when ridden positively, and Courtney Barnes will likely look to adopt similar tactics again. If able to control things from the front, she can give a strong sight.
Riccarton Synthetic Race 3
1 Tumuch
Tumuch (#1) was excellent in defeat here last start when contesting the 1200m $100K Polytrack Championship. His prior record at this track and trip is strong, and getting back up to 1600m looks a plus. In a race that lacks early tempo, Jack Taplin may roll forward and dictate. If left alone in front, he will take plenty of catching.
Riccarton Synthetic Race 4
2 Sincere
Sincere (#2) has been a touch inconsistent of late but is a capable synthetic track performer when right. He comes up in the right sort of race to bounce back, and from the inside draw he maps to get every chance throughout.
Riccarton Synthetic Race 5
1 Gemma Flitz
Gemma Flitz (#1) was outstanding when taking out the $100K Polytrack Championship last start. She does rise sharply in weight, but this field looks a couple of lengths inferior to what she faced that day. If she can reproduce her last-start performance, she should be winning again.
Riccarton Synthetic Race 6
3 Second Chance
Second Chance (#3) fought on bravely here last start after working early to sit outside the leader. Her prior win at this track and trip was full of merit, where she was able to control from the front and kick clear. Expecting Bridget Grylls to adopt similar tactics, and from there she'll take plenty of running down.
Riccarton Synthetic Race 7
3 Purple Prose
Purple Prose (#3) ran well here last start at this track and trip, especially given it was her first run out of maiden grade. Her maiden win prior was strong and she now finds a very winnable R65 contest. With Opie Bosson aboard from the inside draw, she looks ideally placed and very hard to beat.
