Cambridge Harness Picks - Wednesday, 13 August

Cambridge Harness Race 1
5 Loveable Rogue

Hard not to be impressed by the first up run of Loveable Rogue (#5) here last time out when finishing second behind Amaretto Delight . What will be in most interest is whether the form from that race stacks up better than that behind Cyamate here where a number of other runners competed. With natural improvement though, Loveable Rogue looks hard to beat.
Selections: 5-7-3-6-4

Cambridge Harness Race 2
4 Niamh

A bit to like about the way Niamh (#4) found the line last week up at Alexandra Park when finishing third behind Santapazienza. Really strode out purposefully late and charged through the line. Drops back to Cambridge here and if able to get into the same kind of rhythm, then should have the final say tonight.
Selections: 4-5-11-9-10

Cambridge Harness Race 3
4 Mantra

Fresh up from a good spell here Mantra (#4) looks incredibly well placed. Finished off the last campaign against some very handy types up at Auckland and will appreciate this kind of grade here to kick off. Class should prevail in fine fashion.
Selections: 4-7-6-3-1

Cambridge Harness Race 4
1 Secrets Abound

TIP OF THE DAY
Bringing a second placing behind the very much in form Tytate at his last appearance, Secrets Abound (#1) maps out beautifully here from the ace draw. Should be able to hold up in a forward position and perhaps look to dominate this from the outset. Hard to beat on recent efforts.
Selections: 1-9-10-11-2

Cambridge Harness Race 5
3 Eagle Hanover

He's no world beater, but you wouldn't mind owning a stable full of horses like Eagle Hanover (#3). Goes around most weeks, does everything right and lands in positions from which to pick up a cheque which he so invariably does. Same on offer here in what is a bit of a step back from last week's fourth at Alexandra Park.
Selections: 3-1-5-8-2

Cambridge Harness Race 6
7 Cyamate

Anything of Stonewall Stud's lining up in an amateur race with Frank Phelan on board at the north at the moment is worth a look. Cyamate (#7) was an emphatic winner here last time out and against this line up should be able to stalk them throughout and have the final say.
Selections: 7-3-6-5-4
