Arawa Park Race 1
2 Uhtred
Uhtred (#2) may be a 30-start maiden and now an 8yo, but he is racing in career-best form with three consecutive second placings. He maps to carve across from the outside gate and lead this field, and from there should be very hard to run down. May not get a better chance to break through.
Arawa Park Race 2
3 Kenny
Kenny (#3) just got home to win his maiden last start after being strongly backed. If ridden cold for one run at them from the wide draw, the step up to 2200m should not be an issue. Looks to be improving with each run and can continue his winning form.
Arawa Park Race 3
1 Churmatt
Churmatt (#1), a 3yo gelding by Churchill, makes his debut for Stephen Marsh. He won his latest trial in good fashion, albeit in moderate time, and maps to trail his stablemate Swiss Prince, who showed good early speed on debut. From there, he should get every chance under Michael McNab.
Arawa Park Race 4
1 Dembe
Dembe (#1) possibly just needed the run first-up at Tauranga, where he couldn't go with them when the sprint went on. Stepping up to 1950m second-up suits, and he now gets the benefit of Craig Grylls in the saddle. Can run a much-improved race in what is a moderate R60 lineup.
Arawa Park Race 5
11 Morning Cocoa
Morning Cocoa (#11) was okay first-up at Ruakaka when running into 6th. She looks suited stepping out over 1950m second-up, with a Heavy track here more to her liking. Well placed down in the weights in this R60 field and hard to beat despite being a maiden up against race winners.
Arawa Park Race 6
1 Beau Miller
Beau Miller (#1) didn't fire last start at Te Rapa, beaten a long way into 4th, but his debut 2nd behind Honey Badger at Tauranga was very smart. If he runs up to that debut effort, he'll take plenty of stopping.
Arawa Park Race 7
2 Life Of Riley
Life Of Riley (#2) looked a bit flat last start after a big effort for 2nd on debut. She comes into this fresh and gets Craig Grylls staying aboard for this assignment. An improved showing would not surprise.
Arawa Park Race 8
4 Timetoplaythegame
The run of Timetoplaythegame (#4) was better than it looked last start at Te Rapa when posted wide and sustaining a long run before peaking late. He maps to get a softer run from the low draw this time and can go close in this sort of field.
Arawa Park Race 9
5 Blondie
TIP OF THE DAY
Blondie (#5) was nabbed in the shadows to finish 2nd last start at Avondale after sustaining a long wide run. She maps to get a great run from the low draw under Matt Cartwright and should get every chance to go one better.
