Riccarton Park Race 1
5 Inmyshadow
Willing to forgive the effort of Inmyshadow (#5) here a week ago, where he travelled well before dropping out as soon as the pressure went on. If there is any trainer who can turn a horse around on the quick backup, it's Kevin Myers. Willing to take him on trust at the better price this time.
Riccarton Park Race 2
1 Berry The Cash
TIP OF THE DAY
Berry The Cash (#1) brings an ideal lead-in run for the Grand National Hurdles after finishing 2nd in the Sydenham Hurdles here last week. With no Dictation in this field, he looks clearly the horse to beat. He will relish the 4200m and should take plenty of stopping.
Riccarton Park Race 3
3 Cypress
Cypress (#6) made his rivals look second rate here when winning with ease last start. He maps to settle handier this time, with Magnastar likely to carve across from wide out. This is a step up in grade, but a repeat of that last effort would see him go very close.
Riccarton Park Race 4
1 Vamos
Vamos (#1) was beaten 7L in the Winter Cup last week but that effort had merit considering he was running well above his true weight. Much better placed in this company and the claim of Floor Moerman will assist. Expect him to be on-speed and fighting out the finish.
Riccarton Park Race 5
8 Letsbringthebling
Letsbringthebling (#9) ran a bold 2nd here last week, travelling strongly into the race before being bested late. The step up to 1600m won't worry her and last week's run should have her rock-hard fit for this. Can go one better in an open affair.
Riccarton Park Race 6
3 Jesko
Very hard not to be with Jesko (#3) again after his Koral Steeplechase win here last week. Meets key rivals the same at the weights and the step up to 5600m poses no concerns. Looks the one they all have to beat for obvious reasons.
Riccarton Park Race 7
1 Bradman
Bradman (#1) stuck on gamely for 3rd in the Winter Cup last week and looks well suited coming back to 1400m on the quick backup. Maps to lead and should roll along at an even tempo. Hard to run down if he handles the quick turnaround.
Riccarton Park Race 8
3 Canasta
Canasta (#3) was two months between runs heading into Oamaru last start, her 4th there was a solid return. She should improve with that run under her belt and looks far better suited on a big roomy track over 1400m here. Leading chance in what looks an even race.
Riccarton Park Race 9
3 Who Knows
Who Knows (#3) produced a strong run for 2nd in the Winter Cup here last week and now steps up to 1800m, which looks ideal. Maps to get a similar run midfield from the handy draw and should get her chance again. Very hard to beat if she copes with the quick backup.
Riccarton Park Race 10
1 Abandonment
Abandonment (#1) had no luck here last week, hampered for much of the straight before balancing up late. Receives weight relief with Toni Davies' 2kg claim and can settle a touch handier from the middle draw. Leading contender in the last.
