Ruakākā Race 1
4 Cashla Bay

Cashla Bay (#4) showed promise in her 2yo campaign before fading out in Listed company at Te Rapa. She resumes here without a trial but gets a soft draw and a reasonable surface for this time of year. Expect her to settle just behind the speed under Matt Cartwright and look to have the last shot at them.

Ruakākā Race 2
8 Unwritten

Unwritten (#8) produced a solid debut effort for Donna Logan, hitting the line well despite racing in the inferior going near the fence. Craig Grylls now takes the ride and she may be even better suited on this surface. If she improves second-up, she'll be hard to hold out.

Ruakākā Race 3
6 Free Bird

Free Bird (#6) resumed with an impressive win here over 1200m, getting the job done against the track pattern of the day. She steps up to R65 company now but looks progressive and should be storming home again late under McNab.

Ruakākā Race 4
1 Fantastic Smile

TIP OF THE DAY
Fantastic Smile (#1) was very good here last start when finishing second after getting further back than expected. With a slightly better draw, he should be able to land closer in the run under Jasmine Fawcett. Ready to go one better.

Ruakākā Race 5
9 Super Rosa

Super Rosa (#9), trained locally, has been well-backed in each of her past two starts and delivered solid placings on each occasion. She draws well and with McNab engaged, she can find a handy position without burning too hard early. Genuine winning chance.

Ruakākā Race 6
6 Levakia

Levakia (#6) showed her ability when winning well last start here in reasonable 3yo company. She stays at the mile and finds another nice race with Jasmine Fawcett aboard. Should get the right run from the inside gate and looks hard to beat again.

Ruakākā Race 7
7 Suavetta

Suavetta (#7) has looked likely on multiple occasions this campaign but hasn't managed to break through. She gets a slight class drop back to R65 grade and a firmer surface should also help her cause. With Craig Grylls taking over, she looks a solid each way play to close the day.
