Cambridge Picks - Wednesday, 30 July

Cambridge Harness Race 1
4 Midfrew Lucre

A small field tonight really plays into the hands of one of the best amateur horses going around in Midfrew Lucre (#4). Doesn't win them out of turn but is generally not far away from the action in these types of races. Good spot in transit and well on the way to success.
Selections: 4-2-3-6-5

Cambridge Harness Race 2
6 Westar Milly

After a couple of runs up the road in richer company at Alexandra Park, Westar Milly (#6) should really appreciate the drop back tonight. Hasn't gone horrible in those runs north of the Bombays either. Manners a big plus so should be right in the middle of it.
Selections: 6-8-9-4-1

Cambridge Harness Race 3
2 Reet Petite

Would expect a run under the belt and a massive upswing in draws tonight can be enough to have Reet Petite (#2) in the action here. Probably the most progressive horse in the race and with the right opportunity can grab the win.
Selections: 2-7-6-8-3

Cambridge Harness Race 4
5 Irish Whispers

Sectionally, you couldn't have asked for much more fresh up from Irish Whispers (#5) last time out. Fresh up from a spell and charged home for second. Had no chance of winning, but with natural improvement can definitely win tonight.
Selections: 5-6-7-4-2

Cambridge Harness Race 5
1 Tiger Shirl

Three runs in the initial campaign before heading for a spell for Tiger Shirl (#1) and there was improving merit in each of them. Given some time and astute stable will have the boxes ticked for a strong resumption here from the ace draw.
Selections: 1-7-4-3-2

Cambridge Harness Race 6
6 Royal Secret

It's been an encouraging start to the career for Royal Secret (#6) and seems well placed in this grade too. Getting better with racing under the belt and up against much of the same opposition here should be able to make a serious play.
Selections: 6-4-7-1-2
