Otaki Race 1
3 Vibration

Vibration (#3) has been dominant in his past two wins and strikes another suitable Heavy track here. In a small field, he maps to race on speed, likely outside Liquid Les, and should get every chance. Hard to fault his profile, if he repeats recent efforts, he'll be hard to beat.

Otaki Race 2
1 Footloose

Footloose (#1) offered little fresh-up at Hawera, but that was his first outing since November and came on an extremely testing track. Kate Hercock hops on here, and from the wide gate he should be sent forward. A much-improved effort wouldn't surprise.

Otaki Race 3
5 Urenui

Urenui (#5) produced a strong first-up run at Hawera in trying conditions and looks well suited here with just 52kg after Jim Chung's claim. He'll be handy to the speed and with natural improvement, shapes as a leading contender.

Otaki Race 4
2 Stewart

Stewart (#2) was dominant breaking maiden ranks last time at Hawera and returns here in search of back-to-back wins. There's ample early speed in this race, which should allow him to slot in just behind the leaders. He's tough, and if they go hard, he can out-tough them late.

Otaki Race 5
3 Platinum Diamond

TIP OF THE DAY
Platinum Diamond (#3) was excellent winning the Castletown Stakes and now looks to make it three on the bounce. She maps to settle just worse than midfield in a race with genuine tempo and has the turn of foot to capitalise. The one to beat again.

Otaki Race 6
6 Reign It In

Reign It In (#6) put in a pass mark fresh before failing to fire second-up. He's since had a quiet trial that should bring him on, and from the draw he maps to land just off the leaders. Capable of running a race at a good price.

Otaki Race 7
8 Fay Khan It

Fay Khan It (#8) showed real grit last start when leading and fighting on strongly over the mile. She now stretches to 2100m third-up and looks the likely pacemaker again. She'll give backers a sight and represents a solid 1×3 play to end the day.
