There's little to no form in Canterbury at the moment than that of runs behind Akatea in the past six weeks and Cheer The Captain was good enough to finish second to his high-flying stablemate last time out after impressive back-to-back wins. Lands a key barrier draw advantage on key rivals tonight and should make the most of it.

The manners have been there for the past two starts so maybe the confidence levels are rising for Amendment. Talented trotter and took ground of some handy ones last week to finish into fourth. Needs to step again here, but with a complete round would be hard to stop.

There's always been a bit of word around for Here Comes Marty and his fresh up run here in a very good field last time out was excellent, and the run of a horse who is going to win one very quickly. Experience and fitness on side here, he could do it tonight in what looks a very winnable race.

1 Heaven's Mark
Some lovely value on offer for Heaven's Mark here in a fresh state tonight. She's enjoyed a couple of trials to ready for this and with her gate speed and handy draw she's right in play. Loves to roll along in front and looks to be a bit stronger this time in so think she's a real live each way chance.

Manners were left behind last week for Carbon but the return to a mobile tonight should sort that wee issue out. Prior form was great, just couldn't quite grab one, but with the aid of the inside draw and needing to cover no extra ground, this looks a great opportunity to pick a well deserved win up.

With a run now under her belt, Empire City gets a chance to start really ramping things up here tonight against a small field and if she can begin well and get into the race then there's a lot of work to be done to hold her out. Classy trotting mare headed for better things and a big hope in this.

Tip of The Day
You might not mind going one round with him in the ring, but 10 would be a different story all together with Miki Knows. He's as tough as they come and just keeps digging in. That lack of high speed doesn't matter when you can run solid sectionals consistently and escaping from some very good fields lately he gets a chance to grab a win tonight.

1 Princess Sadie
Sharp resuming wins from Princess Sadie down in the deep south and more importantly for her, not penalised at the ratings for either of them. That sees her slide in here beautifully and with her high turn of speed, she becomes very dangerous even in a field as good as this one.
