Handy enough debut effort in a good field here a few weeks back and sure to be a lot better for it. Right stable and right driver to kick the night off on a winning note. Should really be winning this.

Quality young trotter with a bit ahead in the future. In good nick and second last time out was excellent. Cops a wide draw here, but it does look an easier race and with a bit of luck and maybe a drag into it can deliver a win.

1 Miki's Courage

Plenty of improvement to come out of last week's effort for fifth and major upgrade in barrier draw to help too. Needs a clean beginning, but with it can land handy enough to be the one they all need to beat when they turn for home.

7 Caught The Eye

Impressive debutant from a strike-rate stable with some tidy trial form on the board. Tim Williams decision to drive over last start winning stablemate is a good pointer to the chances too and if able to overcome the draw can win this one debut.

2 Major Hipster

Much better horse than the recent form line reads but just taking a bit of time to adjust to the grade. This race here tonight looks a golden opportunity to get back into the right kind of groove, especially from the good draw. Capable of winning at a nice price.

3 Tu Tangata

Never quite know what to make of him. Look an open class star of the future on some occasions and then well below that in others. This here is an opportunity though. With the big guns out of the picture it's his chance to get a win on the board. Just needs to show his best.

6 Kahlua Flybye

Overall she was pretty disappointing down south a fortnight ago. But prepared to forgive her for that because the run prior here was simply stunning for third. And it came against a much better field. Can sit last here and use her high speed to run over the top of them.

6 Carrera Rapido

No luck at all when running into a wall on the home bend last time but an epic winner the start prior to that. Good chance here to repeat against a pretty even field of pacers and if able to find his way onto the speed would take all sorts of catching late in the piece.

14 Sunnys Sister

Quality trotter with some really big targets ahead. This won't be easy off such a big handicap especially if they decide to roll along a bit but she's so quick that if they do and she can get a drag into it at the right time she can still win.

1 Warrior Chief

One of the more consistent performers in recent months in this grade and deserves another winning turn. Landing the ace draw tonight is a huge assist to those chances as able to lead from there and if left to own devices can run them into the dirt late.
