The catalogues continue to drop for the big sales on the Australasian yearling circuit with New Zealand Bloodstock revealing the youngsters who will make up its milestone offering in January.

More than 1000 yearlings will be offered across four days at the sale that will be the 100th National Yearling Sale in New Zealand.

Book 1 of the prized offering features 567 horses, who will be offered on Sunday, January 25 and Monday, January 26, followed by the 281 yearlings in Book 2 that will be offered on Tuesday, January 27 while a day off will be followed by the 161 yearlings in the Karaka Summer Sale on Thursday, January 29.

Siblings to some of the genuine stars of the turf are among those who will be offered in the main book.

Cambridge Stud will offer a colt by Sword Of State who is a half-brother to Ceolwulf, while Wentwood Grange has a Satono Aladdin half-brother to Mr Brightside up for grabs.

A half-brother to Gringotts, who is a short-priced favourite to win back-to-back editions of The Gong this weekend, is also for sale, along with full relations to Prowess, Pennyweka and Kovalica.

The Karaka catalogue release comes off the back of last week's record-breaking Ready To Run Sale and NZB's managing director Andrew Seabrook was thrilled with the line-up it has gathered.

"Coming off the back of what was an incredible week for the Ready to Run Sale, there is sense of momentum building ahead of Karaka 2026," Seabrook said.

"The support and interest from people eager to attend in January, including those that have not been here in a few years is very encouraging, and a sign of how incredible the milestone of 100 National Yearling Sales is.

"Auction houses are renowned for claiming they have assembled their best yearling catalogue, but I'm confident that rings true this year given the increased vendor support, the smaller numbers catalogued and tough selection decisions, which naturally has increased the quality across the board.

"We're also incredibly proud of the New Zealand-bred and Karaka graduates over the last twelve months, as they just continue to get results and prove themselves wherever they race."

The Karaka sale will follow the huge TAB Karaka Millions raceday, featuring the NZ$1m Karaka Millions 2YO (1200m) and $1.5m Karaka Millions 3YO (1600m), which will be held at Ellerslie on January 24.
