The catalogue for Australia’s first yearling sale of the year has been released
Siblings to Golden Slipper winners Stay Inside and Farnan and multiple Group 1-winning girls Imperatriz, Sunlight, In Secret and Joliestar are among the headline acts to be offered at next year's Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Magic Millions has released the digital catalogue for its 2026 offering, with the first lots to go under the hammer on Tuesday, January 13.
It is a week later than normal with the rich Magic Millions Raceday, featuring the $3m Magic Millions 2YO Classic, to be run on Saturday, January 17.
A total of 1221 yearlings have been catalogued with 980 to be offered in Book 1, from January 13 to 16, and a further 241 making up Book 2 on Sunday, January 18.
Following on from the success of last year, Magic Millions has resisted the temptation to reinstate the Saturday night session following the raceday with the Friday 'super session' to be retained.
"We are incredibly proud to present the catalogue for the 2026 Gold Coast Yearling Sale," Magic Millions managing director Barry Bowditch said.
"This sale is firmly established as the best producing auction in the country - no better example being the six Group 1 winners from the 2024 sale - the competitor's edition achieved none.
"From recent legends like Winx, Imperatriz and Alligator Blood to new pin-up performers Apocalyptic, Autumn Boy, Charm Stone, Cool Archie, Ole Dancer and Stefi Magnetica - the Gold Coast Yearling Sale delivers year after year.
"Our team has worked hard in bringing together a catalogue packed with athletic yearlings that we think will give their buyers the ride of their life."
The Zoustar half-sister to Farnan will be sold on Friday's super session, while Stay Inside's half-brother, a colt by another Golden Slipper winner Capitalist, will be sold on Thursday.
Yulong's half-brother to Imperatriz, a colt by Pierata, is in Day 1, In Secret's brother will be sold on Day 2, as will the filly who is a half-sister to triple Group 1 winner Joliestar.
That filly is by Anamoe and is among the first drop of that former star racehorse who now stands at Darley.
Anamoe is among 14 first-season stallions represented in the catalogue with 122 sires included in total.
There is also offspring from 31 Group 1 winners including Avantage, Hungry Heart, Loving Gaby, Mossfun and Unforgotten.
