Australia's champion first-season sire from last season Ole Kirk has effectively been valued at $60 million after a share in the Vinery stallion sold on Inglis Digital this week.

The one-percent share in the son of Written Tycoon sold to Eric Yeung for $600,000.

Ole Kirk had a stellar first-season with first-crop members including Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner O' Ole and Stakes winners Legacy Bound, King Kirk and Prestige Forever and is this year fully booked at a fee of $99,000, including GST.

Vinery Stud sold the share on behalf of a client and general manager Adam White was blown away by the result.

"I was surprised with the price to be fair, it's a lot of money," White said.

"But I guess you can't get into the horse, this is the only way to get in, and he's obviously started the new season very well with a run of winners heading into the spring so it's great to be able to welcome a new investor into him today.''

The Ole Kirk share was one of two purchased by Yeung, who also snapped up a share in Widden freshman stallion Southport Tycoon for $180,000.

The highest-priced horse of the sale was the Rubick mare Outback Miss, who was purchased by Glenlogan Park and Steve Morley Bloodstock for $190,000.

Six other lots sold for six figures, including Catahoula and Nags To Riches, who sold for $135,000 apiece.
