Unraced half-sister to Manaal among bluebloods in action in Sydney on Wednesday
Rajwa did not have the opportunity to prove herself a star two-year-old like her older half-sister, but the daughter of I Am Invincible gets the chance to make an early impression as a three-year-old.
The Michael Freedman-trained filly is down to debut the $60,000 Myplates 3YO Fillies Handicap (1150m) that kicks off Wednesday's Randwick's Kensington program.
Rajwa is out of Red Lodge, who is also the dam of Manaal.
That daughter of Tassort was one of the stars of her generation at two, winning the Group 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes en route to Group 1 victory in the ATC Sires', while she won the Group 2 Furious Stakes at three.
Manaal and Rajwa are the second and third Australian foals from Emirates Park resident Red Lodge, a daughter of Midshipman, who raced and started her broodmare career in the United States.
In America she foaled Badr, a son of Kitten's Joy, who started his career in England but came into his own once exported to Saudi Arabia, where he has won four races including the King Abdulaziz Racetrack Championship Cup (2000m) at feature level.
Rajwa trialled twice in autumn but did not hit the racetrack and returned to the trials at Randwick on July 11 when she was a 1-1/4-length trial winner.
She rounded out preparations for the debut with a fourth placing at Randwick on July 22, when beaten two lengths but not ridden as urgently as some of those who finished ahead of her.
Those two trials were on Soft ground but Rajwa faces the prospect of a Heavy track for her debut with the Kensington surface rated a Heavy 10 on Tuesday with a chance of showers predicted on raceday.
The family does have a history of good performances on wet tracks with Manaal's ATC Sires' win coming on a Heavy 10 Randwick track.
Tommy Berry has been booked to partner Rajwa on Wednesday, where she holds down the third line of betting at $7.50.
Favourite, at $2.25, is the Kris Lees-trained Cantiamo, a daughter of Too Darn Hot who ran fifth as favourite in the Inglis Nursery last December at her only start to date and was a recent slick Gosford trial winner.
James Mcdonald, who was aboard for that most recent trial, retains the ride on Cantiamo.
The Myplates Handicap is one of two maidens that kicks off the card with the Inglis Xtra Bonus Handicap containing a couple of well-related types who have already been to the races.
The Chris Waller-trained Sixties, who ran second at Canterbury on July 23, is a brother to Group 1 winner Artorius, who placed in a Caulfield Guineas alongside Captivant, whose brother Outer Banks is a rival of Sixties on Wednesday.
