Group 2-winning Zoustar 6yo sells for $2.6m via Magic Millions
Olentia is the latest mare to realise a seven-figure sale price via a Magic Millions platform for Star Thoroughbreds after being the standout lot of Tuesday's Virtual Sale.
The Group 2-winning daughter of Zoustar got to $2.6 million before being knocked down to Twin Hills Stud, which was bidding on behalf or burgeoning European giant Wathnan Racing.
It was later confirmed that the six-year-old had run her last race and would be sent to Europe to join the Wathnan broodmare band.
Olentia's sale comes just over 12 months after another mare who carried the Star Thoroughbreds colours with distinction, Group 1-winning Extreme Choice mare Espiona, sold for $4.15m in a standalone Magic Millions virtual offering.
Kiku ($1.46m), Fiesta ($1.35m) and Invincibella ($1.3m) are other Star Thoroughbreds mares to sell for seven figures in recent times.
Olentia was not the only six-year-old mare to sell for seven figures at Tuesday's sale with Vienna Princess, a daughter of Snitzel, selling for $1 million.
She is bound for Yulong, which bought her and the sale's third highest-priced lot, $500,000 buy Fortunate Kiss, under the name Highway Farm.
Also offered was a stallion share in star Newgate Farm sire Extreme Choice, which realised $500,000 when sold to Sheamus Mills.
