TRIAL POINTERS
WARWICK FARM November 25: Talented mare MONTE KATE is set for a good campaign after an easy win in her 793m heat (47.00; 33.79) to back up her Rosehill trial win on November 5. Dominated the trial from start to finish, never coming off the bit to win by 1.4 lengths with plenty in reserve. WHINCHAT has had his issues since he last raced in July with a six weeks gap since he finished second in a Warwick Farm trial in October. He was his old self in this 1200m heat (71.70; 34.61), working his way to the lead after 200m and from there doing it in style to cruise home by almost four lengths in a good pointer to his summer prospects.
RANDWICK November 21: The promising NINJA added to his reputation with another smart win in the fastest 1050m heat (63.05; 34.21). In the 1050m maiden trials the heat winner MADAME FIOCCA (63.68; 34.69) has been missing since placings in two 2YO races in the 2023/24 season. She showed good pace to win her heat where the effort of the third placed CELLARMASTER stood out as one to follow. The fastest 737m trial was won by NULLABOR JANE (42.77; 32.73) . The previously noted CHIX was another to impress in the 1050m maiden heats.
ROSEHILL November 18: A maiden win on debut will not surprise from Zoustar gelding ICE KOOL after three promising trials. Took the eye in his Warwick Farm trial on October 31 and was better here, travelling easily in the lead and striding away under a hold to score by an impressive 5.5 lengths in time that nearly equalled the best of the session (53.71; 33.97).
HAWKESBURY November 17: Asian agents will be hot on the tail of unraced Anders gelding CONTRADICTION after he sped over 800m in the quickest time of the session (45.01; 31.04) to win his heat by almost nine lengths. He had not been seen since an impressive trial win in February and the fact that no other 800m heat winner went under 46 seconds or 32 seconds for the last 600m speaks volumes for his natural speed.
WARWICK FARM November 13: Impressive work by Written By 4YO STORMFIELD to win his open heat over 801m in quick time (46.63; 32.94). He was always in control and went to the line as easy as you like with plenty in reserve in his second trial after a long spell, being off the scene since January. He's only had four starts for a country maiden win and should be well placed in suitable restricted company. WEST OF AFRICA had plenty to offer with a hard held fourth in his open heat over 801m (47.81; 33.61). Several good maiden trials took the eye including MAN OF WORTH.
ROSEHILL November 5: Yet to see the best of classy 3YO QUIETLY ARROGANT but his two recent trials have him primed for a good summer. Improved off his second in a Randwick trial on October 20 to work home under a soft ride for an impressive win his 1030m heat (62.43; 34.37). A strong open heat over 900m was won in good style by the smart mare MONTE KATE (54.97; 34.79).
HAWKESBURY October 21: Keen to follow unraced filly CHIX after she made an impression improving on two previous trial placings to win her 800m in sharp time (47.14; 32.81). Easy work for her to sit outside the leader and travel within herself to hold an advantage to the line.
WARWICK FARM October 3: WHINCHAT won six of his first 12 starts but struggled through his winter campaign including an embargo from racing after he reared badly at the start of one of his races. He was on song in his first trial since July, trucking through the first 1000m of his 1207m heat (72.17; 35.32) to lead by eight lengths at the 50mm before he was eased down to 1.5 lengths on the line.
