TRIAL POINTERS
WARWICK FARM October 17: Godolphin filly CASSEROUSSE had only one start last season and has trialled up nicely in two outings for her new trainer. Improved on her second placing in her resuming trial to win this 801m heat in fast time (46.95; 33.28), coming off the back of the leader at the 350m and sprinting to the line under a soft ride for a dominant win.
ROSEHILL October 13: The 2YO ranks have been looking a bit thin but a nice trial from DEFENSEMEN points to a good debut. He was a strong winner of his 900m heat (55.65; 35.39). A good effort from the G1 winner STEFI MAGNETICA to finish a close second to the highly rated Beiwacht in the quickest of the three heats over 1030m (61.68; 34.54).
WARWICK FARM May 26: GRAM is a big talent but not easy to train, being off the scene since he won a trial in October. The big gelding by Exceed and Excel has been placed twice from only three starts and a win is surely in store after he disposed of his rivals in his 815m heat with ease (49.08; 34.67).
RANDWICK October 22 (2024): GRAM was costly in his first three starts last season but the trial form of this imposing Exceed And Excel gelding is too good to ignore. Having his first trial since July, he travelled easily behind the leading bunch in his 742m heat (43.80; 33.29) before peeling to the outside at the 300m and running home over the top of them with big strides under a tight hold. He's better than maiden class.
