TRIAL POINTERS
ROSEHILL July 15: The five 2YO heats over 900m will be the source of numerous winners. Plenty to like about the heat wins by SKYGLIDER (54.93; 35.24) and NASHVILLE JACK (55.46; 35.38). PRETTY POWERFUL took the eye finishing off for a soft fourth in the fastest 900m heat.
RANDWICK July 11: Strong Zoustar colt VALEDICTORIAN is typical of a youngster who will improve sharply on what he showed earlier in the season. The leaders flew over the first 600m in his 1050m heat so it was no surprise to see them gassed late as they were overwhelmed by the closers. This colt was six lengths back on the fence and had to ease across the heels of four leaders to get clear running at the 200m before surging to the line with a touch of class for a soft win (63.81; 35.42). There were numerous other good trials in the 2YO heats including the winner KOIBITO.
NEWCASTLE July 9: The clock doesn't lie with Sebring Sun gelding COPPERLINE showing great natural pace to run away with his 2YO heat by more than four lengths in the fastest of the seven heats over 800m (46.88; 34.16). Came off two good trials at Scone and should be well placed in a suitable late season maiden. SHAGGY, the youngster who won three straight by dominant margins before starting favourite in the G2 Skyline Stakes, showed nice improvement off a recent first-up trial to win his 800m heat in good style (47.68; 34.34).
RANDWICK June 27: In the 1050m heats runners that took the eye with easy trials included OLUFSEN, JAGERBOMB and OPEN SECRET while MILITARY LEGEND had plenty to offer in his 740m heat.
WYONG June 16: DALMANNDI, an imported stayer in the Lees stable, trialled with purpose and looks set to improve on what he has displayed to date in his limited Australian career. Followed up with a strong trial win at Newcastle on July 9 that will have him ready to perform.
