RANDWICK June 27
A Grass; Good 4
11 Heats – 6 x 1050m (1 Open; 3 2YO; 2 C1/Maiden); 5 x 740m (1 Open; 3 2YO; 1 Maiden)
A couple of sharp maiden heat winners for the Waterhouse/Bott stable posted the quickest times.
ENTITLEMENT (Waterhouse/Bott): Former Kiri mare has been placed in three of her six starts including a last start third at Goulburn in her second start for this stable. Looks ready for a maiden success after sprinting to a soft win by more than four lengths in the fastest heat over 1050m (63.72; 35.28).
I AM GONE (Michael Freedman): Speed wins 2YO races and this compact unraced Extreme Choice filly is all that. Having her second trial after a Randwick placing in her first appearance, she had no trouble opening up a big advantage in the first 300m of her 740m heat and kept running under no pressure for a soft win by more than five lengths in quick time for the session (43.42; 32.80).
METALLIC ART (Waterhouse/Bott): Promising debut trial by this 3YO Pierata filly in the C1/Maiden heat over 740m. Widest on the turn before she sustained a fast sprint over the last 300m to reel in the leaders, doing enough to win without being pressured while posting the quickest time over the distance (43.31; 32.77).
In the 1050m heats runners that took the eye with easy trials included ANYTHINK GOES, GRAND PRAIRIE and NAZWAH while OLUFSEN, NULLABOR JANE, JAGERBOMB, OPEN SECRET and MILITARY LEGEND had plenty to offer in the 740m heats.
