Race 1
MISSILE SEEKER proved too good for the Maidens here second-up as a 5-4 favourite. The extra 1 1⁄2 f should hold no worries and he has more to give. Any cut out of the ground won't bother this fellow. DEAD OF NIGHT took out a Goulburn Maiden at his second race start over 7 1⁄2 f. In a top Sydney barn and will have come on from that. Well-bred and can prove a threat. BOOSHANG started at long odds here 3 weeks ago over this distance and did a good job after settling back in the field. Finally draws a low barrier and can build on that effort. ALL ABOUT OLLIE would be a hope at best but has been struggling to find Penza stays aboard and that's a positive. Keep onside.
Race 2
VADAMOS QUEEN raced handy and missed a whisker here three weeks ago up to the mile. Comes to the middle distance at near peak and will keep improving for a top Sydney yard. In the right race and is a key runner. HOOLIGAN TOMMY is also Sydney-trained and should relish the longer distance. Was better at Nowra without much luck and has more to offer. SANDASTAN found one too good at Beaumont-Newcastle in a That stacks up and he has weight relief in a Draws to secure the run of the race and Cahill is a key jockey booking. POKER DICE placed here this grade/ tip his latest and there was plenty of merit in the effort. Will position handy and it's hard to risk the in-form Dryden barn. CALL ME ARTIE keeps Beasley and will be around the mark.
Race 3
It promises to be hot upfront. EVERIDO led and was much too good for the Maidens here on debut. Is sure to have come on and the Dryden barn is flying. He can take the next step. PRINCESTON is also speedy and won the Moruya Maiden comfortably on debut. Also strips fitter and can pose a threat. SHELLY'S ACE won the Maiden at Goulburn and then was narrowly beaten there at this level. She also likes to run along and is a chance to bounce. PROMETIO MAS will be better suited over the shorter sprint. Needs to lift but gets Beasley for the 7lbs apprentice and may get the last crack at them.
Race 4
ENCANTADO resumed here improved beaten a neck. Has the speed to manage the awkward barrier and won't have to improve much to take it out. VAN DER ZEE switched barns and wasn't beaten far first-up at Wagga. Trialled well prior and has more to give. Strips fitter and should go close. MONOMAKH resumes for the new barn and brings strong relative figures from Victoria. Has warmed up with a Nowra trial win and must be kept very safe. HIS HONOUR wasn't far away at Newcastle on debut and then resumed here for the new barn with a solid effort. Has an awkward barrier but no surprise to see quick improvement.
Race 5
MASTER JOE has won three of his last four all at Goulburn. Was heavily bet first-up the latest in a Tumbles in weight at this level and he performs second up and wet ground won't bother. Fitter and he can go on with TEMPLE RUN is a threat. Has been bursting to win in stronger city and provincial races and hits this at top. Draws well and the tongue tie is applied again. In a strong Sydney yard with Beasley is a key jockey booking. TULLA PARK resumes off the 66 win at Kembla Grange. Gets in well this grade with a 3lbs claim atop and has won twice fresh. Rates well and must be considered. PROPHET'S PRIDE is a local who flies fresh. The rail should advantage and his best figures would see him around the mark.
Race 6
Tricky and the race day betting will be instructive. BEDTIME was spelled off a decent debut effort at Newcastle and brings solid trials to resumption. In a strong Sydney barn and Beasley is a key jockey booking. Will be naturally improved and should be ready to ENERGIZED was in need of the first-up outing despite trialling well in town. Three back was beaten a nose at Kembla Grange over this distance and that stacks right Fitter and expect quick improvement. OUR KIWI GIRL (10) debuts for John Sargent and has been well-trialled. The Sydney barn strikes at nearly 20% in Canberra and despite a wide barrier the filly must be kept safe. ROMAN MISS (12) has the rail and showed enough at Hawkesbury on debut to consider.
Race 7
OFFSPRING delivered the CL2 here heavily-bet on a slow track and Penza sticks and has been with her all along. Flies this course and tumbles in weight at this level. She has more up her sleeve and will take plenty of beating. MISS OSTEND couldn't have been more impressive blitzing the Open graders here 13 days ago. Raced forward defying the usual pattern. Has to run out the extra 1 f today but that shouldn't prove a bother. Offspring's stablemate TROOPER KNUCKLE won the Open here a week earlier over this distance spiking his figures. He'll be right in it holding that form. LOOSE LOVE comes out of the same race and will be better for the outing. Has the tongue tie on for the first time and no surprise to see him push forward today. Likes the cut out of the ground and there's been rain about. RATHLIN is a former Queenslander who's likely to improve sharply second-up. He's raced well at Doomben in stronger.
Race 8
Tricky. ASTUNNER has threatened twice since the CL1 win at Wagga on a heavy track. Not sure the rails gate will advantage but he has the form to go close. GEMINIDS (15) has been narrowly beaten both starts this preparation and finds a touch easier. In sharp local hands and gets her chance. WILKSHIRE (14) has an awkward gate, but a repeat of the narrow Nowra defeat two-back would see him right in On a quick backup. VELLA MAGIC is an improver who races forward. Has upside and must be included.
