The O'Dea/Hoysted gelding built on a nice third when fresh two starts back at Doomben with a win as favourite at Sunshine Coast last start, getting home by 0.8 lengths.
That was jockey Ben Thompson's first ride on him and he sticks.
It also saw Naval Trader unbeaten at this distance and he won his lone third up attempt so should be able to progress further.
Tenzing is another that looks nicely placed third-up in the opening event of the day.
Tony Gollan's gelding ran on fresh then put the writing on the wall when third last start over 6 3⁄4 f at Doomben, beaten 1.7 lengths.
He steps up to a distance where he has performed well in the past and with blinkers going on he could peak.
