bet365 Say From SA: Morphettville – Saturday, 2nd September 2023

Analysis and suggested bets for the nine-race card at Morphettville on Saturday.

No black type racing in store for Adelaide on Saturday, but a few progressive types are engaged which will make for an intriguing spectacle.

There are a handful of 'shorties' throughout the meeting, including the promising W Clarken & N O'Shea pair of Boognish and Sweetened, but the favourite I'm most keen to support and this week's bet365 best bet is the Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young-trained He's Our Bonneval (Race 3).

The son of Siyouni has been thereabouts of late when running into tougher opposition in Melbourne and Sydney and will appreciate the drop in grade, in what looks a most suitable assignment.

The six-year-old has been impressive through the line in his last three, finishing hot on the heels behind above average types Amenable, Kalino & Dance To Dubai.

Although it's been over a year between drinks for the gelding, He's Our Bonneval boasts a terrific record over this distance and shoulders the superior profile into this contest.

Expect Todd Pannell to stalk the pace and prove too strong for them in the run home.

As for the best each way chance for the day, Set To Prophet for Grant Young presents a great value play (Race 8).

The Extreme Choice gelding progressed nicely second up on the Parks surface when charging home to fall just shy of the minors.

Stripping fitter on the quick turnaround, further improvement is anticipated and the extra distance should suit.
