Off to Murray Bridge for South Australian racing on Saturday where I've landed on a progressive gelding from the P & B Blanch yard as the bet365 best best of the day.
The son of Valentia, Validated has progressed nicely in each of his three preparations and looks a type that can continue to go through the grades.
The four-year-old was an impressive winner here two back when rattling home from the rear and then was from disgraced last start when tackling a much stronger field at Caulfield.
The gelding clearly shoulders his share of ability and will appreciate reuniting with Dom Tourneur who is yet to miss the placings when piloting, scoring in 3/4 starts.
The pair can take closer order this time from the inside draw and should prove very tough to beat.
As for the best each way play of the day, we look to the final race of the day where I'm keen on the horse at the bottom of the order of entry that is Garrire from the G Richards & D Moyle stable.
While he currently sits as next emergency runner, he does look certain to gain a start with Mccain still in the field after competing on Wednesday.
Admittedly, the five-year-old gelding hasn't threatened in his last two starts but did go close three back here when beaten half a length at this venue.
The gelding returns to a favoured track and trip where he shoulders a pretty handy record and he will also enjoy some weight relief
Drawn to get the gun run from the inside gate, I expect Garrire to be there to pounce with plenty to offer at the pointy end of the race.
