Promising sprinter King Kapa looks well placed to continue his progress through the grades when he shoots for a hat trick at Doomben on Saturday.
King Kapa is two from two since joining Tony Gollan for this campaign, scoring at this track when fresh then last time fighting well to salute by 0.6 lengths over 5 f at Eagle Farm.
He is tested over another 1 f but is drawn to enjoy a nice run just off the speed and Ryan Maloney sticks.
Chris Waller's Wairere Falls looks close to a win and gets his chance to strike in the following race.
He has worked home well in two runs since a spell, last time closing for a 0.6L third over 7 f at Gold Coast.
He will appreciate the extra ground and hasn't missed the top-three when third-up so will be peaking.
