Best From The West: Ascot – 26th November 2022

The middle pin of Pinnacles Series sees the Winterbottom Stakes run at Ascot on Saturday. It is a cracking edition with many G1 credentialed horses engaged.

In the first running of the race as the AJ Scahill Cup, we're looking at Pure Devotion to be loving the step up in ground.

The So You Think mare has run well in these type of races during last year's carnival including an excellent effort in the Perth Cup.

Of course that will likely be the end game for her once again but her effort in the Luckygray a fortnight back suggests she is right on song.

Hopefully she can snag a spot just off midfield rather than having to go right back to near last. That way W Pike can weave some magic in a field made up of a lot of horses needing a return to form.

Earlier in the day over the 5 f, Tadweer is in his second campaign in Perth whereby he comes off some good runs behind in form horses.

One of those was close up to Sniparoochy back in May and that horse won the Jungle Mist just last week.

He is an on-pace sort of horse so we just need a touch of luck over the first few 0 but thereafter should run well in a competitive race.

Brad Parnham has been right around the mark of late so looking for another salute here.
