Best From The West: Ascot – 5th November 2022

We are closing right in on the Railway Stakes as the big G1s are ready to rumble.

So the Lee Steere Stakes at G2 level is the main race this week and you'd think this field will all be chasing spots in the big one.

Last year's Railway runner up Comfort Me will be fitter from his first up effort in the Eurythmic Stakes when close up and tends to improve off that resuming run.

He should be getting a soft run all the way right behind the pace assuming he jumps well.

From there watch for him surging late as he will want to be in top form heading into the Railway coming up in a fortnight.

Peter Knuckey has been in nice touch of late just for the icing.

The Fairetha for the 3yo boys is only a small field but there are many ways to look at the depth of them as a group.

That Belgravia form could be a little tricky given it was a bunched finish and so we'll suggest you back All The King's Men coming out of a different lead up.

He is unbeaten from a break and might try to get control again over the 1400m.

With spruiks around other runners we could end up with a nice little price in a race where differences of opinion will abound.
