Sydney Specials: Rosehill – 2nd July 2022

Plenty of uncertainty around the Rosehill track on Saturday, not only is the rail in an unusual position (+8m 1500m-W/P, +5m Remainder) but the expected rainfall could cause chaos.

In the last two years, the rail has only been in this position twice and a possible heavy track throws another spanner in the works.

Anyway enough of my excuses, let's try and find a few winners.

The Bjorn Baker trained Shades Of Rose is unbeaten in three starts and creates plenty of interest in her return.

Set to contest the fifth event the daughter of Rubick was last seen winning narrowly at Canterbury back in February.

That came off two dominant wins at Bathurst and she looks in good order for her return following her most recent trial at Rosehill.

Always beware the unbeaten horse as we are yet to see it's ceiling, that coupled with likely improvement, suddenly she looks very potent on Saturday.

From a Timeform ratings perspective she already holds an edge over her rivals and looks to get every chance from the inside draw, Clark can either lead or take the trail.

The Baker stable certainly isn't flying of late (6% L50 runners) however she appears well placed to get them back on track.

The John O'Shea trained Waihaha Falls returned in great order last start and appears well placed to go back-to-back in the final event.

Having always shown good promise, he gave them a galloping lesson first up and returned a new career peak in the process.

Form hasn't worked out as yet, however he is clearly trending the right way and has won second up previously.

Reece Jones has a little bit of work to do from the wide draw but if able to slot in midfield, he should be able to round them up.

His closing splits last start were indicative of a horse capable of winning better races and with even luck he should go very close.
