Firstly we'll go for easily the best rated horse on the card in All Banter who takes on a BM86 over the short course.
She was excellent first up over this course and distance and then took on Listed grade at Flemington.
Not only was that a harder race but the form could well translate in Sydney over the carnival.
She was under a length from the winner up the straight and with her pace, that should mean she is controlling the race.
An ounce of luck and the black odds seem very enticing.
Over the same 5 f trip we head to Race 8 where Appalachian is involved in a betting duel.
This 6yo only started twice last time in and won them both. He's had a short let up and goes again on a track where he is twice a winner.
He doesn't usually show much gatespeed so that is a bit of an issue but some of the light weights will want to show it to test those carrying more.
We're hoping the David Jolly trained gelding is the major beneficiary.
