King Arthur Poised To Break Through

The Mark Walker trained King Arthur appears set to peak third up and looks well placed to break through at Kranji on Saturday.

Set to contest the fourth event the son I Am Invincible has shown good improvement with each visit to the races and should be better suited over 1400m.

Only lightly raced King Arthur has placed in two of four attempts most recently finishing second behind Everest.

That form got a nice push last weekend and prior to that he finished third behind his stablemate Elliot Ness.

On that occasion Elliot Ness broke the track record so King Arthur's form is very hard to fault.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings he sits clear and looks to get a lovely run from the draw.

He raced on-speed last start and wouldn't be surprised to see him lead at 1400m.

The Mark Walker stable is going well at present and with further improvement expected King Arthur looks very hard to beat.

The Michael Clements trained Al Meqdam went down as favourite last start, but is also knocking on the door and like him kept fresh (41 days).

Given a soft trial in the lead up he looks in fine order and the booking of Duric is an obvious push, always have to respect when he links with the Clements' stable.

The Steven Burridge trained Ima failed to fire last start however his form prior was solid enough and he is more than capable.

Yet to break through from 12 starts including a number when sent out favourite, Ima has been a frustrating conveyance but the engine is there.

The blinkers come off and he steps up from 5 f which could spark about good improvement.

Of the rest the Mark Walker trained Reignite appears the best of the rest.

He simply got too far back last start behind Everest and has to be kept safe if able to settle closer this time around.

Good luck and happy punting.
