Best From The West: Ascot – 3rd April 2021

It is Perth’s most important juvenile race with the Karrakatta Plate on the agenda at Ascot.

Anything can win the feature as luck in running has to be the crucial factor.

One of those who was well fancied in the lead up was Spin The Knife as he got too far back in the Supremacy Stakes.

That was in stark contrast to the debut win when right with the leaders so not sure what tactics they'll try here but he still finished off well enough last time.

However this time around he's back up to 6 f which has to help and on breeding alone he will enjoy that.

With 16 runners from this starting point they should be humming along. He can be rattling the last bit.

Over to the last where we see the Champion Fillies and Guineas winner go around but we're going to take her on.

At the 7 f, we're happy to back Tycoon Storm to win again. She was running solid races in the Jungle Mist and Jungle Dawn during the summer carnival but then resumed a winner.

Sitting well forward this course and distance she boxed on tenaciously to win.

Reckon this one will have track position on the favourite and that could make a big difference at the end.

Do like when mares come back a winner as it shows they want to be racing.
