Sydney Specials: Rosehill – 30th January 2021

A wet track faces punters at Rosehill on Saturday with the Expressway Stakes a key highlight.

Star galloper Ole Kirk lines up against the older horses for the first time aiming to be the fifth three-year-old to win the feature in the last 20 years.

An impressive strike rate given they have only provided 8% of the participants.

Combined Team Hawkes have also won four of the last while notably finishing second on five occasions.

Again an impressive strike rate given they have only provided 10% of the participants.

While loftier targets are on the horizon, being a valuable colt, you can be assured he will be fairly forward.

In the first event you will struggle to find a better placed horse anywhere in the country away from Al Mah Haha.

He is the definition of thrown in.

Off an OHR of he is entitled to be giving the second highest rated horse (Proven Class), 21lbs (includes mares' allowance), instead he only gives away 2kg under the set-weights conditions.

Didn't really handle the wet track last start, but his effort two back in the Villiers (beaten 2.3L), leaves him very well placed.

Goulburn Cup win earlier this prep also sees him very well in.

Have him marked $1.60 and quite surprised to still see black-odds around.

Even luck, he should be very hard to beat.

In the eighth event, Frosty Rocks looks very well placed to return to the winner's stall after disappointing at the Gold Coast last start.

Frosty Rocks either didn't appreciate the firmer track or simply didn't handle the quick back that or likely a combination of both.

Gets his preferred wet surface on Saturday and should be better suited back to 1500m.

Leads for fun under Sherry and should take some catching.
