Sydney Specials: Rosehill – 28th November 2020

Racing can certainly be testing at times, went into last weekend very confident but came out with donuts.

We now return to Rosehill on Saturday, which officially kicks off the summer of racing.

I enjoy this period every year, you get served up good fair tracks and can often catch a horse on the way up who's been held back from the Spring carnival.

The two features present great betting races and while it pains me to write this, happy to swing away from Through The Cracks.

He did the job for us a few weeks ago, but now loses JMac and has drawn to get a long way back, which at Rosehill can be tough going on a firm track.

The James Cummings trained Phaistos was very good fresh behind Windstorm, before failing to fire a shot in the Sale Cup.

Happy to put a line through that run, as he has since been kept fresh (34 days) and loved his most recent trial.

Drawn to get the dream suck run from the inside draw and should get every chance for Avdulla.

He races well at Rosehill and is unbeaten in his sole attempt over this trip, he looks the hardest to beat.

Sticking with the Godolphin stable in the fifth event, siding with Plaquette.

She was only narrowly beaten two back, before not beaten far down the straight last start.

Rates highly off the back of that and looks well treated back against this level of opposition.

Hugh Bowman is booked and she's drawn to land in the running line, midfield.

There looks to be good speed on paper and with clear air in the straight, she should prove very hard to hold out.

She rates clear off her last start performance and confident she has more to offer this time, back around a bend.
