Sydney Specials: Rosehill - 28th March 2020

There are few joys in the world at present, fortunately we are still racing and we have nine races to dissect at Rosehill on Saturday.

Was all over the Fireball form last weekend (Cosmic Force/California Zimbol), we hit with one, but missed in a big way with Cosmic Force.

Comfortably beat the SP with Cosmic Force, however it does little for our back pocket.

The Gerald Ryan trained Villami won the Fireball and happy to stick with her on Saturday, lining up in the Group 3 Star Kingdom Stakes [1200m].

Lines up against the older horses and has drawn the carpark, however she should have the speed to get across and find the front.

Don't mind wide draws with speed horses, it leaves Tim Clark with options.

She is one of only two last start winners and appears well placed when assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings.

Big watch on the James Cummings trained Kementari, unseen since the Canterbury Stakes last year.

Returns as a gelding (failed at stud) and has trialled like a bomb (he always does).

First time we've seen him out of Group 1 company in seven starts and he hasn't raced in Group 3 company since February 2018 when winning the Eskimo Prince Stakes.

Well placed if he's right, will Special K suck in the punters again? I'll be having a saver.

The Chris Waller trained Verry Elleegant hasn't been rewarded for her good form this time but is back as good as ever and appears well placed to break through in the Group 1 Tancred Stakes.

Often a work in progress, Chris Waller has taken the earmuffs off and the results have been immediate.

A noted backmarker, Verry Elleegant has been more tractable, a key factor in her recent good form.

While unable to win, her performances in the Chipping Norton/Ranvet saw her return a Timeform rating of 120 and 118 respectively.

Her two best performances since her 3YO season, she appears capable of repeating that performance out to 2400m.

With the aid of the mares' allowance, she appears well placed and only has to cope with the quick back up and she should prove hard to beat.

Prior to this preparation, Verry Elleegant had never finished ahead of Avilius (0/3), but has had his measure both times this time in.
