Brisbane Best: Eagle Farm – 8th February 2020

With rain falling and more on the way it’s the wet trackers that will have the edge at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

The first of those is Stuttering in the Mount Franklin QTIS 3YO Handicap over 1600m.

The Robert Heathcote-trained gelding is lightly-raced but making good progress and importantly won his only attempt on rain-affected going.

That came in this company at Sunshine Coast two back when he fought strongly to get the job done over 1400m.

Since then he lifted his rating over today's distance when a close third to race rival Vanna Girl and meets her better at the weights.

Ron Stewart goes back on having won his only ride aboard Stuttering and he can turn the tables.

A big drop in grade can see Phobetor return to form in the Roku Gin C6 Handicap over 6 f, the final race on the program.

He faded out of the Magic Millions Cup last start but was terrific before that when leading throughout to win the rich Rising Stars.

He has trialled since last seen and in a key statistic has won two of three attempts on wet tracks.

Phobetor can mix his form but is well drawn and the favourable going can see him show his best.
