Brisbane Best: Doomben – 28th September 2019

Capable sprinter Cadogan looks ready to peak and win when he lines up at Doomben on Saturday.

The six-year-old has improved his rating with each outing this time in having placed at his past two and should be at his best fourth up.

He has found the line well in all of those hitouts over 6 f so looks ready for the step up to 6 3⁄4 f with five of his six career wins coming at that distance range.

Cadogan has also won two of his four attempts at Doomben so ticks a few boxes for this.

It is a decent field with some in-form gallopers but Jackson Murphy's 4lbs sees Cadogan well placed to break through.

The in-form Six Sigma gives punters the chance to finish off the card with some each way value.

The Tony Gollan-trained gelding is making good strides this campaign with two wins and a placing from his three attempts.

He fought hard to win at Ipswich last start after adding to a good record at this course when scoring first up here last month.

Steps up in distance but looks ready for it fourth up and did place at his only previous attempt at the mile.

He goes up from a Class 3 to a Class 6 but he is progressive and has the ratings to suggest he will measure up.

BET OF THE DAY: Race 5 #7 Cadogan @ $2.80
