Sydney Specials: Warwick Farm - 8th February 2020

A rain soaked Warwick Farm/Rosehill faces punters on Saturday with Twitter adamant we are unlikely to race.

Off the top of my head, I can't remember the last time a Saturday Metropolitan meeting in Sydney was called off, plus who could forget Golden Slipper day 2017.

They were knee deep coming into the straight, Winx's performance in the George Ryder, beating Le Romain and Chautauqua by 7L+ (ran the quinella in the Canterbury Stakes the start prior), is still one of the best performances I've seen.

Granted it was Golden Slipper day, but from that day forward, I figured we would never see a meeting at Rosehill called off due to a wet track — I guess we will wait and see.

If we are to race, keen to bet in the Inglis 3YO Sprint with Victorian visitor Rubisaki.

A winner of four of six races, she hits this race on the up and while yet to see a heavy track, she has had no concerns with a soft track.

A dynamic winner first up at Moonee Valley, she overcame the coffin last start, when trapped away on the inside.

Did a good job there when squeezing through back to the inside and while only a narrow margin, she was a sectional star.

Rates clear off the back of that performance and love her drawn out.

True Detective was an eye catcher first up and should improve further, however when looking at his record it's hard to suggest he has the desire to win, plus many Superium fans will be happy to argue he should only have one win to his name.

Have Rubisaki marked clear favourite and with even luck she should take a power of beating.

While we have been yet to collect with Smartedge this preparation, happy to give him one more chance on Saturday.

No question his racing pattern has cost him, however he is airborne and couldn't have gone any better at the Gold Coast last start.

The step up to the mile should suit, he may even settle closer from the good draw.

Either way, he rates well and at his each-way quote, he is worth sticking with (last chance I promise).
