Ben Smith Cobalt Inquiry Adjourned Indefinitely

The Benjamin Smith cobalt inquiry has been deferred to a date to be fixed at the request of the trainer's legal representative.

Racing NSW stewards acceded to a request from solicitor Paul O’Sullivan to adjourn the inquiry scheduled to resume next Monday to a date to be fixed.
No reason has been given for the adjournment.
The stewards had announced on Friday that the inquiry would be held over two days next Monday and Tuesday at the Racing NSW offices in Sydney.

The stewards confirmed that they have received all analytical results in respect to samples obtained from four of Smith's horses at Newcastle and Wyong race meetings and his Newcastle stables in August and September.
The stewards confirmed that in addition to the certified findings from two Official Racing Laboratories that four samples have had cobalt detected at elevated levels.

The cobalt samples were obtained from Iron Duke at Newcastle races on August Elaborate at Wyong races on August El Dorado Dreaming at Smith's newcastle stables on September and Tabrobane at Smith's Newcastle stables on September
The stewards will also continue their inquiry into Josh Parr's riding of Roheryn at Rosehill on NOvember 17 before the first race at Rosehill on Saturday.
