Sunday Singapore Race Previews - July 22

Singapore form previews for Kranji Sunday July 22
MILITARY MIGHT – Has run two excellent races under champion jockey Vlad Duric to date, and this looks like another good opportunity for this 4yo to win again.
SUPERSONICSURPRISE – This Hideyuki Takaoka-trained galloper continues to look well handicapped on the pick of his old form and has the in-form Olivier Placais in the irons.
WITHOUT PREJUDICE (11) – Now looks as if this 4yo is getting the hang of the racing game and can run a sound race now up in grade slightly.
HONOR – This mare is in good form at present and is most definitely one to include.

LORD OF LIGHT – Lovely debut when still very green in the closing stages behind Mr Hooper earlier this month. He should come on for that experience and is the logical form pick with Vlad Duric now in the plate.
LORD JUSTICE – A well-related individual, being a full-brother to the useful Deimos and related to the nice stayer El Don. His trials and trackwork have looked good and his trainer can ready a newcomer first time.
MO ALMIGHTY (11) – Missed out on a run in the Aushorse Golden Horseshoe last week, but that could have been a blessing given he would have had a wide gate in that race. He debuted well and looks the type to progress with the light weight.
ATTENTION – Has trialled nicely without being put under pressure, and even from a wide barrier, he might be one to keep an eye on for the future.

OCULIST – Now downgraded, having shown enough in better company to suggest he can win one of these and will sport blinkers for the first time also.
SNIP – Another who was finding it tough in Class 3 company. Ran well over slightly shorter last time out and if he reproduces that running here, he is a live chance.
SHAQRAA – Always seems to go around well fancied this 5yo, and should be ‘kept onside’ once again.
SILVER WIN FORTUNE – Twice a winner over the course and distance and should warrant plenty of respect, although this is tougher and is now on a career high mark.

THEAGENESOFTHASOS – Ran his best race to-date at his last start when under William Pike, he flashed home to beat all but the winner Justice Smart. Has drawn an alley. Leading hope.
LIM’S RHYTHM – Jockey Ryan Curatolo nearly got a win out of the horse who kept him out of the saddle for six weeks, two days after his return from an ankle injury he sustained after Lim’s Rhythm dumped him on the way to the start in May. Has a nice turn of foot. No reason why he can’t pull it off here.
LUCKY RED (12) – Drew some notice at his last run when he closed off for fourth to Muscular Dragon. Will relish extra 1 f. Wide barrier but he has a long straight to find a good spot. Faces stiffer task but can be included in calculations for some value.
MAJESTIC (11) – Showed he was not far off his best form when a smack-up third to Alamak at his sixth start. Place claims.

ULTIMATE KILLER (10) – Could prove the one to take a little chance on in a poor race, based on his performance two back when partnered by a senior jockey. This time he gets the assistance of the excellent Alysha Collett.
COOL CAT – Legendary old stager who never knows how to run a bad race, and once again should give his running here.
BRING ME JOY – This return to Class 5 is a big plus and Michael Rodd in the saddle is also no bad thing.
RORY – Losing run now stretches back some 29 runs to October 2015 and he needs to put a very poor run last time behind him. On the pick of his form, he is a hope for the quartet.

SANDTOP – Had nowhere to go at his last start. Might not have won but would have finished in the money behind winner Magnificent Gold. Jockey Vlad Duric stays obviously keen to make amends.
LIM’S RIPPLE – Tried hard in that same race behind Magnificent Gold but had to settle for second place at his last run. On that form, he is likely to figure prominently again.
GOLD FAITH – Looked a winner when he hit the front halfway up the straight at his last start, but longshot Turquoise King swept past him. Deserves respect.
GOLD REWARD – Does not win often but has been knocking on the door recently. Working well and can give a solid account of himself in this.

DESTROYER ECLIPSE – Did not quite go through his gears at his last run over 7 f. Drops back in trip. Give him another chance.
ARR FLAIR – Stormed home for second last time. Meets similar cattle and from barrier No 1, he can settle a little nearer the pace this time. Big danger.
OPTIMUM STAR - The Derby-winning Hideyuki Takaoka-Olivier Placais tandem gets another chance to shine here. Won in Kranji Stakes D company and meets tougher opposition this time, but if he gets the right breaks, he will be in the money again.
SPECIAL RAIN – Not a model of consistency but he has not been beaten out of his ground of late. Course and distance suit. Awkward alley is a query but he can come from behind. Outsider.

RAFAELLO – Super run at his last outing. Gave the impression he could master Mr Luck but had to settle for second-best. Lovely gate will give him every chance in the race. Can come up trumps.
TODAY (12) – With a record that reads 10 wins and two thirds in 13 starts, he has to be given more than just a cursory look. Ran third in a Group 3 race over 6 f in Seoul at his last start. Korea runners have not quite measured up at Kranji yet, but if this one brings his Korean form here, he might show some cheek.
SKYWALK – Freshened up for this after a tough lead-up to the Lion City Cup. Well-in at the weights. Trialled fairly last Wednesday. Go close.
AUTUMN RUSH – Late bloomer who can’t do no wrong at the moment. Faces biggest test, especially at set weights and apprentice jockey Simon Kok Wei Hoong can’t claim, but still remains a doable place chance.

PETITE VOIX – This is a lot harder than at her impressive Maiden win last time out. Has trained though, and breaking from a low draw can only enhance her chances. Stick with her.
ENTHUSE – Found one better again at his last start. May have to be used up a little to come across from the wide gate. If he gets up there with minimum fuss, he will have a big say.
KING OF WAR – Inching closer to a first 2018 win. Has found his form back and looks well suited in this. Wide barrier will probably see him ridden for luck. If luck is on his side, he can take this.
NATURAL IMPUSLE – Blinkers did the trick last start. Led out from a wide barrier and just kept going. You would think it would be even easier from the inside alley against similar opposition. Should be thereabouts.
