Friday Singapore Race Previews - July 20

Race Previews for Singapore racing at Kranji Friday July 20
SUCCESS COME TRUE – Sat handy to the pace last start and boxed on well enough but couldn’t catch the winner. Must include.
SUPERTEN – Was poorly drawn last start but raced forward and was narrowly beaten in what was a busy finish.
RAPTOR – Is coming from a Maiden race where he fought on well enough to suggest he plays a decent part in this race.
TURQUOISE SON – Another who missed out in a busy finish last start but did look to be doing his best work late on that occasion.

REIGN – Eased back from a wide stall last start but was seen making good ground in the run home. Definite hope in this with the claim of Simon Kok Wei Hoong.
GRAND CHOICE – Went very hard on debut, probably too hard and was run down in the shadows. First-up from a long spell. Recent trials say he is forward enough.
GLENGALLON – Had a good strong hit-out in a recent trial to win in 61.00. Had trialed in New Zealand on two occasions to win and place.
EVIL ROADSTER – Has accepted and scratched on two occasions but has been trialing well enough to indicate he has some say here.

LIBECCIO – Just about strikes the weakest field he has met (in the opinion of this writer). Deserves a winning turn after constantly being turned over.
ELENA OF AVALOR – Led last start but folded in the straight. Has trialled since with the blinkers Definite player here.
SATELLITE KINGDOM – Didn’t have a lot of luck last start after drawing wide and was caught extremely wide early. To his credit, he still ran a sound race to make the top four.
GENERAL MARSHALL – Out of the rest, he might be a chance in this race. He has a few less convictions than some of the others.

TESORO PRIVADO – Fourth in both the 3yo Classic and the Singapore Guineas. He is a classy type and has since run 3rd in a trial last week (run in a good time). He can prove the one to beat.
STAR EMPIRE – Has done little wrong in two starts to-date here in Singapore and has won over 7 furlongs when trained in Australia. Should give his running in this and has a nice barrier.
SOUTHERN SPUR – In good form at present and should be considered for the exotics.
SEBASTIAN BACH – Would need to lift a touch now up in grade but fought hard for the win last time out and has a nice weight of 53kgs.

LONHRO GOLD – Experience on his side, plus he has been consistently in the money. Nice barrier. Overdue for his maiden win.
GYARADOS – Speedy filly who showed the way on debut but could not find the steel. Weakened out in the run home. Blinker-pacifiers Appointment of Vlad Duric points to her chances.
STREET BLADE (11) – Trials have been sound. Not many Zoffany’s have raced here, but this one looks promising. Seems to need more ground but can go well first-up. Barrier one.
SUPER JIMMY – Did not fare too badly on debut. Outpaced early, he did take closer order late to run seventh. Will strip fitter for this. Worth another look.

MILITARY ALLIANCE – Has to be respected at this level and distance. Three wins and four placings from 13 starts at 1 m. Returned lame last start. Watch for market support.
CHAIRMAN WIND - $11 last start with Michael Rodd in the saddle. Had a wide draw to contend with, which didn’t aid his chance. Follow again.
SPUR ME ON – Looks to have regained some form again with a couple of decent efforts. Only beaten 2.7L last time out.
POWERFUL AS WIND (11) – Had issues last start after he sat up on the pace, returned lame and he was backed into favouritism. Another one to keep a close eye on the market.

MARINE TREASURE – He was up on the pace throughout last start and boxed on well enough to be a player in this race with the 9lbs claim of Zyrul Nor Azman and gate 1.
ELITE POWER – Was seen doing his best work late after having traffic issues in the straight that were costly. Wins soon. However, drawn poorly here.
SPECIAL KING – Was wide up on the pace last start which in the end didn’t matter as he won nicely. Carpark barrier makes it tougher.
CHARGER – Was wide the entire trip and as a consequence, it was a tough run. Battled solidly and looks to be a quartet filler.

MR MOSA – Has been running sound races without landing the winning blow. Was just beaten last start on the line.
REDDOT RISING – Was spotted doing is best work late in the race at a big quote last start. Shorter odds on offer here despite the bad ally.
REFRESH – Good effort to win last start by 2L at the line. Handy horse that should be a realistic chance in this field.
VIOLA DA TERRA – Has trialled up well enough to be considered a player in this race. Arrived here with a record of eight starts, one win and three placings.
