She Will Reign Sold To International Interests

Golden Slipper Stakes winner She Will Reign has been sold to international interests.
Syndicator Scott Darby announced that the Gary Portelli-trained filly would head overseas at the end of her upcoming spring campaign but would not identify her new owners.
“I would love to say it all, it is great publicity, but I have to respect the owners’ privacy,” Darby said.
She Will Reign will race for her current owners in the spring before heading to stud next year.
A $20,000 yearling purchase by Darby Racing, She Will Reign has won six of her 11 starts to date and prize money totalling $3,204,400.
“She could have been sold next year but people were starting to knock on the door and the way it panned out it was a win-win for the owners,” Darby said.
“They got the right money and weren’t ready to part right now with the horse. The deal was to race on for the spring and collect prize money along the way.”
Portelli is preparing She Will Reign to resume in the G2 Missile Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on August 4.
The rising four-year-old won the G1 Golden Slipper Stakes as a 2YO and the G1 AJ Moir Stakes last spring.
Her dam Courgette, by Charge Forward, was sold for $2.1 milion in foal to I Am Invincible at auction last month.
