Brisbane Best - Doomben- Saturday May 19

Anatola looks very well placed to build on her strong recent form when she lines up in the Amgrow Bright Shadow Quality (1200m) at Doomben on Saturday.
The Mark Newnham-trained runner has been terrific in both outings this campaign, winning on both occasions and getting the better of Test The World who looks a terrific chance earlier in the day.
Anatola returned well with a win at two and a half length win at Randwick first before crossing from a wide draw to settle on the speed and win by just under two lengths in the Listed Silk Stocking (1200m) last start at the Gold Coast.
Anatola, who has now won six of her 18 career starts, placing on a further seven occasions will not find this any tougher today with the biggest danger appearing to be River Racer who ran sixth to Anatola in the Silk Stocking last start.
The relatively lightly raced five-year-old mare has come up with the short odds at $2.20 which is usually a bit short for the Brisbane Best however she still appears to represent good value with her price more around the $1.70 mark.
From barrier six she is likely to push forward again and settle on the speed and with Josh Parr on board expect her to notch up her third win in a row this campaign.
The race prior will see a competitive field line up for the Group 1 Doomben Cup (2000m).
Whilst Comin’ Through was unable to get the job done as our best bet two weeks ago he does represent terrific each way value in the feature race of the day.
Despite drawing well, the Chris Waller-trained runner was caught wide throughout and unable to finish off when sixth behind Oregon’s Day.
Comin’ Through does get the services of Michael Walker this time who has a good association with the horse and he will need a bit of luck from the widest barrier.
There could be some questions over his ability to run out a strong 1 1⁄4 m but he was good behind Winx in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes during the autumn and the $9.50 on offer looks a solid each way bet considering he jumped the favourite in the Hollindale last start.
Will be interesting to see if Walker goes back from the wide draw or with the evident lack of speed push forward and be positive.
Either happy to have an each way play at the price and with even luck expect him to be in the finish.
Good luck
