Brisbane Best - Doomben - May 12

Doomben will play host to a very competitive nine race program on Saturday which features in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000.
Earlier in the day, Marsupial will be looking to make it three wins on the trot when he lines up in the Queensland Day Stakes (1350m).
In what looks a carbon copy of his last start win over this course and distance, the James Cummings-trained runner has drawn to get all the favours again in barrier 3.
Oneness should lead again in a race that does not appear to have a great deal of speed with Warranty also handy, setting the race up perfectly for Marsupial in behind.
Marsupial looks to have turned the corner this campaign, following up two second placings with two wins and beating a majority of these last start under similar conditions looks a very good bet at the $3.70.
Jim Byrne maintains the ride and expect Marsupial to notch up the first stakes win of his career today.
Goathland heads north for trainer Kim Waugh on the back of a first up win at Randwick over 1 1⁄8 m last start, his first outing for the new yard.
Form prior to that in Melbourne for previous stable was good and the step up to 1 1⁄4 m will really suit today.
From barrier Kerrin McEvoy should be positive on the six-year-old gelding and settle up on the speed and a genuine staying type proven over more ground will take plenty of getting past.
The current price of $5 the win and $2 the place looks a very solid each way bet and expect to see him in some decent races going forward and into the Spring.
Good luck!
Bet of the day: Race 6 #4 Marsupial @ $3.70
Each way play: Race 4 #12 Goathland @ $5.00
