Sydney Specials for Rosehill – March 24

Big fields on a rain affected track provides us with the opportunity to find plenty of value across the Rosehill program.
Before we proceed to discuss where the value lies on the program, we need to find a best bet and that comes in Saturday’s feature event, the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m).
Written By contests the Golden Slipper looking to become the first horse since Sepoy in 2011 to claim the Blue Diamond – Golden Slipper double.

All signs point to him achieving the feat as well.
The son of Written Tycoon is the highest rated two-year-old of the season to date for his Blue Diamond success.
He wasn’t far off that mark in his Sydney debut when winning the Pago Pago Stakes at this course and distance seven days ago.
Furthermore, he ran more than half a second quicker than the fillies division on the day spearheaded by Sunlight in the Magic Night Stakes.
With Rosehill currently rated a Heavy 8, it is also worth noting Written By won his lone prior outing on rain affected ground, a 5 f 2YO Plate on a Heavy 8 surface in December.
Most in the field lack genuine wet track form.
The bombproof chestnut ticks all of the boxes leading into the race.
An additional positive is the fact he maps to enjoy a beautiful run from barrier 4.
Currently a $5.00 second elect behind $4.40 favourite Sunlight, a case can be argued those pair should be flipped in betting.

On a search for value, Ventura Storm appeals in his Sydney debut contesting the Ranvet Stakes (2000m).
The imported galloper produced one of his best Australian displays last start when third behind Harlem in the Australian Cup at Flemington.
The Hayes-Dabernig runner was finding the line well down a section of track where it was hard to make headway.
Ranvet favourite Gailo Chop ran second in the event with three quarters of a length back to Ventura Storm.
While not much separated the Australian Cup placegetters, Gailo Chop is a $1.90 favourite while Ventura Storm is currently priced at an attractive $14.
His Australian Cup outing was the first he had with Blinkers applied and the son of Zoffany responded to them well.
The five-year-old will be fitter again third up and gets Damien Oliver in the saddle.
It’s also worth noting the son of Zoffany has won three of his five starts on rain affected ground.
