Winx Trials On January 22

Trainer Chris Waller is cranking up the gears on champion mare Winx as she prepares for her return to racing in Sydney next month.
Waller has two trials planed for Winx before she resumes in the $250,000 Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on February
Her first trial is scheduled for Warwick Farm on January
“She’ll have two more gallops and then her first trial,’’ Waller reported.
The good news for Sydney is that Winx will have at least three and possibly four starts over the autumn carnival as she attempts to extend her current sequence of 22 successive wins.
They will be in the same races Winx has dominated for the past two years, starting with the G2 Apollo Stakes.
She will then step up to 1 m in $600,000 Chipping Norton Stakes at Randwick on the March 3 before the $1 million George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on March
Waller said overseas plans for Winx would be resolved after the George Ryder but has hinted that he is favouring extending her Sydney campaign to the $4 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on April
“There is no decision on an overseas trip yet but we will make it after the George Ryder,” Waller said.
