Select Program Mapped Out For Houtzen

Last year’s Magic Millions Classic winner Houtzen has a program of select sprint races mapped out for her through the autumn.
Houtzen returned to the stables of her Gold Coast trainer Toby Edmonds on New Year’s Day and will resume in Sydney next month.
Edmonds said Houtzen would be starting off in races against her own age in the build up to G1 Galaxy over 5 1⁄2 f at Rosehill on March

Houtzen will be lightly-weighted as a 3YO filly in the $700,000 Galaxy, conditions that Edmonds believes will give her a golden chance to win her first Group One race.
The $2.5 million TJ Smith Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on April 7 may also be considered for Houtzen but Edmonds suggested he may look beyond the Sydney carnival and send the filly to Adelaide for the Robert Sangster Stakes-Goodwood double at the Morphettville carnival in May.
Houtzen has won five of her nine starts for $1.734 million prizemoney.
She raced only four times in the spring, resuming in Melbourne with a second in the G2 McEwen Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley before winning the G3 Scarborough Stakes (1200m) against her own age.
She then went to Sydney to finishing seventh against the older horses in the $10 million Everest at Randwick in October before returning to Melbourne to finish ninth in the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on November 4.
